Ad of the Day | Nero's Journey, a Tribute to all the Little ones who Create Magical Worlds

Christmas is born from many stories told in children's tales around the world, and this was the inspiration for this idea. A storyteller weaving a magical world for his daughter, who is also a parent, just like so many others who sit down every night to share these stories with their children.
This work is a tribute to all the little ones who create fantastic worlds full of adventure and love with their imagination. Four months ago, Alpina, together with Akira and Buentipo, decided to start this journey, aiming to tell a story that would connect deeply with people; portraying the everyday life of a home while homaging the magic that children and their imagination can bring. The campaign was designed to transcend time, aiming for an emotional connection.
The main characters, Tori, the little girl, and Nero, the donkey, were key in bringing this story to life. To capture the bond between them, Nero was trained for three months in order for him to move naturally through the house and, above all, interact warmly and friendly with Tori. Meanwhile, Tori, who’s not an actress, also spent three months preparing, learning to move alongside her adventure companion and immerse herself in her role, creating a genuine and endearing bond in front of the cameras.
The outdoor scenes were filmed in the “páramo”, a unique natural landscape found only in six countries worldwide, including Colombia. This place, full of life and mystery, gave the magical touch that the story needed.
This project was directed and created by Juan Rueda and the Akira Cine team, one of Colombia's most influential production companies, known for telling compelling stories that emotionally resonate with the audience.
In the words of Cristina Iregui Casas, Alpina’s Brand Director:
“At Alpina, we believe in the power of storytelling, which is why this year, rather than just a holiday campaign, we joined forces to open a few magical minutes—a space for happiness, reflection, and reconnection with what truly matters in life: being together, sharing, and celebrating what unites us”.
Following Akira’s vision, and echoing the words of Juan Rueda on his motivation for this story:
“My goal is to tell stories that invite us to take the time to see something that genuinely moves us, stepping away from the fast pace and automation of everyday life. It’s important to reconnect with our humanity and set aside the immediacy of devices. As well as aiming on what generates a genuine emotion— whether it’s laughter or reflection—if it’s something that doesn’t go unnoticed. This was all inspired by my daughter, to whom I tell stories every night. She reminds me of the magic in small moments, the power of connection, and how, through a simple story, we can touch the deepest emotions.”
