Just like the award show, the Gerety Talks series puts some of the marketing and creative industries true changemakers in the spotlight and at the centre of the conversation for a refreshing take on what leadership looks like.

In this new Gerety Talk, Chief Creative Officers from around the world discuss challenges they face like adapting to different markets, marrying traditional advertising with digital media, justifying the value of agencies, and retaining creative talent. The speakers also touch on the impact of new technologies, such as AI, on the design industry and the importance of maintaining a focus on creativity and talent. Additionally, they emphasize the need for work-life balance, preventing burnout, and fostering inspiration to retain employees. The speakers express a positive outlook on AI, viewing it as a tool to enhance creativity rather than replace human creatives. They also discuss the importance of finding motivation and excitement in seemingly mundane industries and the need for advertising to adapt and use new technologies to regain its "cool" factor and inspire new talent and conclude by expressing their excitement for the return of humor in campaigns and the need for uplifting content in a world filled with negative news.

Ioana has always been a part of transformational stories. From transforming adaptation work in local markets into innovative narratives that win big globally, or transforming creative departments so they can deliver more innovative work or transforming agencies, helping them grow and repositioning their creative product throughout. Today Ioana is Global Executive Creative Director for the global Reckitt business at McCann Worldgroup and manages teams across London, New York and other main markets offices. Before that she was for just over an year Chief Creative Officer for MRM UK and for almost 5 years with Energy BBDO in Chicago as EVP Executive Creative Director. Together with several awards won on a wide range of clients she also helped build the agency’s social and content hub, changing the structure of the creative teams and hiring multifunctional talent that expanded beyond the usual creative structure and included influencers, cinematographers, photographers and musicians.

Pop culture expert Dora Osinde is Chief Creative Officer at the Creative Company Ogilvy Germany. Having grown up with the internet, the social media expert knows one thing above all: How to inspire communities. Not only does she always keep her finger on the pulse of current trends, she is also always one step ahead. And perhaps that is also why she is able to touch the nerve of today's Zeitgeist by creating campaigns that carry a particularly strong message. Her comprehensive knowledge of all things related to brands, branding and digital communication is in high demand among major players: Netflix, Meta, Disney+ and Spotify are just a few examples of her portfolio of creative work. Her special profile paired with her talent paved the way for her admission to the Art Directors Club Germany, where as a speaker and mentor she is inspiring upcoming creative talents

Selma holds a BA in graphic design from the Iceland University of the Arts and has over twenty years of experience in advertising. She has served as a juror for the Effie Awards, the ADCE Awards, as an international juror for Ireland’s ICAD Awards, The Gerety Awards, Creativepool awards, Ad Black Sea Awards, the Icelandic Advertising Awards, as well as the Icelandic Designers Award. Her work has received considerable recognition, including awards like Clio, Cresta, Creativepool, as well as shortlisted for the Cannes Glass Lion, the Gerety awards, Epica Awards, Care Awards, Act, the Phoenix Awards and several awards from the Icelandic Advertising and Design Awards. On a personal note, Selma Rut has over the years become an ardent advocate for gender equality in the world of advertising. She actively promotes awareness of gender equality, including organized talks and roundtables on the matter, with the goal of increasing visibility and amplifying the voices of women in advertising.
