Ad of the Day | Wendy's Own's the March Madness Dunk
Mar. 18, 2026
As March Madness kicks off, Wendy’s in partnership with VML, is connecting the thrill of a dunk on the basketball court with the most iconic dunk of all: Wendy’s Fries in a Frosty. For the first time ever, Wendy’s is bringing these two items together as in an official menu and celebrating the creativity and individuality of how people dunk. By the end of the tournament, you won’t be able to see a player slam dunk without thinking about dunking a fry in Wendy’s Frosty.
Also, Wendy’s is planning on signing active college basketball players to their Wendy’s Dunk Team - if they dunk in the tournament, there’s a chance they could be signed to a Wendy’s NIL deal. Be on the lookout across social platforms to see if your favorite college hoops player joins the Wendy’s Dunk Team. To cap it off, Wendy’s is also planning on giving away a free small fry and free small Frosty classic on 4/7 if someone dunks in the National Championship game on 4/6 - all with the intention of letting America know that anyone can dunk this March at Wendy’s.
Lindsay Radkoski, Chief Marketing Officer, Wendy’s, said:
“This March Madness, we're celebrating all the ways our fans dunk – whether it’s Hot & Crispy Fries in our Classic Frosty or Tendys in our Wendy’s Signature Sauce. Every dunk at Wendy’s is a slam dunk. We’re giving fans more ways to dunk and more reasons to enjoy their favorites while they watch the tournaments.”
Alli Pierce, Chief Creative Officer, VML, said:
"By making Wendy’s Frosty and fries the Official Dunk of March Madness, we wanted people thinking about Wendy’s when they see a dunk on the court. And we couldn’t celebrate dunks without celebrating the players actually throwing them down. So, every dunk during the tournament becomes a chance for that athlete to land a Wendy’s NIL deal. Come on, Dunks!”
