AFX Creative Welcomes Award-Winning Executive Producer Nicole Fina
Jul. 12, 2021
In an exciting period of growth, multidisciplinary content creation studio AFX Creative has strengthened its leadership team by bringing on versatile, award-winning Executive Producer Nicole Fina to its Santa Monica, CA, studio. Her appointment was made by Mark Leiss, AFX Creative Founder and Managing Director.
Most recently the Executive Producer of Advertising & Games at Digital Domain, Fina has also held key producing roles at MPC, Psyop, Method Studios, Troika, and Grey Worldwide. Over her storied career, she has helped bring to life narratives for some of the world’s top-tier brands, including Google, Apple, Nike, NFL, Adidas and BMW, to name a few. Her breadth of work includes global campaigns, music videos, holograms for live events, longer-form narratives and key content for the Academy Awards and Super Bowl — much of which has garnered a multitude of accolades across the Cannes Lions, Emmy Awards, AICP, VES, HPA, and the Tellys.
Fina’s unwavering commitment to success includes a supportive and inclusive producing style, fostering a cohesive team environment to take on evolving industry challenges.
Fina explains:
“The Executive Producer role is quite extensive. It’s more than just about business development and project management; it’s also creating and keeping trust. The client and team experience is just as important to me as the quality of the work. Creative teams can feel confident reaching out to AFX Creative and getting a partner who will collaborate on the best path forward. When there is great synergy, great work will be done.”
Most notably, Fina has led projects for Starz’s Golden Globe-nominated television series Outlander, the “Northstar” short film for the Apex Legends video game, along with the “A Storm Is Coming” trailer for the Ghost of Tsushima video game. The latter was honored with a nomination for “Outstanding Virtual Cinematography in a CG Project” at the VES Awards.
Leiss notes:
“Nicole’s enterprising and creative energy is a welcomed addition to our expanding team. I look forward to her leadership and contributions in growing our business into its next phase, specifically: the diversification of our capabilities and industries of expertise.”
In her new role, Fina will continue to build upon AFX Creative’s legacy of envisioning and crafting world-class content:
“When I first connected with AFX Creative, we were perfectly aligned on core values in business and integrity. Competition in LA is fierce. What sets AFX Creative apart from the rest? For one thing, it’s our talented and passionate team on the ground in LA who allow us to be nimble and accountable. I believe that continued commitment toward breathtaking VFX, color, design, animation, and finishing as well as solution-oriented pipelines will be our north star.”
