Samsung & SOS Voz Amiga Enhance Suicide Prevention Helpline with Galaxy AI
Mar. 24, 2025
No-one is immune from mental health problems. Struggles like anxiety or depression can knock at anyone’s door regardless of their age, gender, social status or occupation, let alone their nationality.
So, knowing that Portugal is home to over 1 million foreign residents and that many of them do not speak Portuguese, Samsung have joined forces with SOS Voz Amiga to make its emotional support and suicide prevention helpline the oldest in the country more inclusive. Now all the calls made to SOS Voz Amiga can be translated in real time with Live Translate a feature powered by Galaxy AI.
As part of this partnership, a mental health awareness campaign is being launched through OOH and social media, specifically targeting immigrant communities in Portugal. The goal is to ensure that those feeling lonely, sad, or depressed know they can reach out for help—regardless of the language they speak.
Because, after all, sometimes all it takes is having someone to talk to.
