Audi Transforms the 753 km Range of the A6 Sportback E-Tron into a Textile Artwork with Artist Luna Munoz
Mar. 06, 2026
Audi has transformed the 753 kilometers of range of the new Audi A6 Sportback e-tron into an artistic initiative developed in collaboration with textile artist Luna Muñoz. The project converts every kilometer of the vehicle -the greatest electric range in the brand's history- into hand-woven thread, resulting in a work that connects technology, territory, and craftsmanship.
Under the name "The most beautiful journey", the initiative seeks to materialize the 753-kilometer journey into an artistic tapestry. To achieve this, the brand has chosen to carry out the initiative with Luna Muñoz, a textile artist and founder of Casa Chinchilla, renowned for her specialization in the high-warp loom, a traditional vertical weaving technique. The artist was tasked with transforming the 753 kilometers of range into 753 kilometers of hand-woven thread. "The biggest challenge has been having to work from kilometers of thread instead of from a format, which is how I always work," affirms the artist.
A seven-meter tapestry
The result of this collaboration is a unique work of art: a seven-meter tapestry that symbolically interprets various landscapes along the route. For this, Muñoz has used different materials, textures, and volumes that translate the journey's environment into a visual and tactile language, fusing textile tradition and contemporary aesthetics.
Fran Arguijo, Creative Director at Ogilvy in Barcelona stated:
"For this project, we looked for an artist whose craftsmanship would highlight this technological milestone. In an environment saturated by AI, the artisanal world has become the voice of premium brands. The value of the handmade, the authentic, differentiates you and positions you as a 'human luxury' brand."
A journey through Spain's diversity embodied in art
The tapestry materializes a 753-kilometer journey across Spain, from the Cantabrian Sea to the Mediterranean. This route begins in Costa Quebrada, passing through Santander, the Pasiegos Valleys, La Rioja, Los Monegros, the Montsant mountain range, and the Garraf coast, to end in Barcelona.
Luna Muñoz said:
"In Spain, you can go from a mountain to a beach or a desert in a matter of hours. And that richness is unique."
This geographical diversity, with its cliffs, vineyards, forests, deserts, and mountain ranges, is abstractly captured in the tapestry through textures and geometric forms, reflecting art's ability to interpret reality.
From range record to museum piece
The work has been exhibited at ADN Galeria, one of Barcelona's leading contemporary art galleries. This initiative not only celebrates a technical feature of the product but elevates it to the category of artwork, demonstrating Audi's ability to transform technology into culture.
Subsequently, the tapestry has been divided into 180 individual fragments. Audi is currently delivering these unique pieces to its collaborators. With this initiative, the brand emphasizes that innovation is built not only through technology but also through the ability to generate new cultural experiences and meaningful connections.
