Daniel Hall Named Group Creative Director at Specialguest

Mar. 16, 2026

SpecialGuest, the independent, fully integrated creative agency, today announced that Daniel Hall has been named Group Creative Director. He will be tasked with mentoring creative team members, leading ideation across disciplines, building lasting relationships with clients and fostering a creative culture of empathy and courage.

Hall joined after serving the agency on a one-year creative director contract. His immediate impact was demonstrated as he played a key creative role across several important pieces of business: the pitch for the 2026 “Pinterest Presents” global marketing event; the launch of the agency’s “Look Forward” creative platform for Meta’s first-of-its-kind display glasses; and the campaign for Lyft’s partnership with United Airlines, “It’s All Miles.” He is currently working on brand and campaign development for Gaia and Sunbit.

Hall brings a highly unique and diverse set of skills to his leadership role. He held senior creative director roles on the client side for global brands such as Expedia, Snap Inc. and TOMS after starting as a copywriter at leading agencies such as 72andSunny. He brings both conceptual rigor and a collaborative mindset to complex, multi-channel creative work, helps brands clarify their voices and has breathed life into high-profile activations such as Snapchat’s first Oscars TV spot and TOMS’ campaign to end gun violence. He also teamed up with SpecialGuest briefly in 2020 for a get out the vote effort with the Election Super Centers Project.

Beyond such credits, his unconventional career includes serving two years as a U.S. State Department diplomat in China and co-founding a rock band, The Lives of Famous Men, that has toured extensively and released six studio albums. That depth of experience defines his distinctive creative perspective, one highly attuned to culture and the intricacies of human emotion.

Co-Founder and CCO Aaron Duffy, says:

“Dan brings care, craft and soul, not only to the work itself, but to the process of getting to great work. We are gaining a sense of peace and clarity with Dan’s approach to the work as well as sharpness to the strategy and creative. While we have been deep in campaigns over the past year already, from a future forward tech to a challenger brand and new business development in between, we are thrilled he is officially taking the GCD mantle.”
