English Heritage Asks Children Across the Country, "Where's my Shadow?"
Jul. 01, 2024
As schools break up for the summer holidays, families are on the hunt for fun, affordable days out. And UK-based charity, English Heritage, who cares for over 400 historic sites across the country, has launched their free, imagination-inspired Summer Quest between July and August.
Creatively conceived and executed by Havas CX helia, the "Where’s my shadow?" Summer Quest is set against a backdrop of a Summer Fayre and will take place at English Heritage’s iconic sites – welcoming pre-school and primary-school children – with nearly 200,000 little adventurers expected to take part.
The quest features English Heritage’s resident guard dog Noble, named after Queen Victoria’s collie, who’s lost his shadow. Without it, Noble could lose his imagination forever – so he needs the help of some small but mighty heroes to find it.
Children will have the chance to meet all of Noble’s cute yet kooky friends, like mouse, cat, and donkey, take part in fun activities and even play dress-up with exciting digital filters. Those who complete the quest and successfully find Noble’s shadow will be rewarded with a medal of honour and their very own certificate.
The inspiration behind the Quest lies in English Heritage’s wider TV campaign, "Feel-good summer". The 30-second film encourages audiences to spend the summer enjoying great value days out with the whole family at English Heritage sites.
Ben Knight, Executive Creative Director, Havas CX helia said:
“To see this summer campaign come to life for another year and inspire the imaginations of thousands of children is a great source of pride for us and a wonderful, shared experience for all the families who visit.”
Paul Robson, Head of Events, English Heritage said:
“It’s so great to be able to offer families these wonderful and affordable days out this summer. The Summer Quest will enable little adventurers to use their imagination to have fun amongst our legendary and historic sites.”
The quest runs from July 1st to August 31st and can be found at 29 sites – including Osborne, Dover Castle, and Whitby Abbey, with French, Spanish and German translations exclusively available at Stonehenge. English Heritage’s ‘Feel-good summer’ campaign can also be seen on TV throughout July and August.
