Epoch Films Welcomes Comedic Director Daniel Lundh
Sep. 10, 2024
Epoch Films has signed Swedish filmmaker Daniel Lundh for commercial representation in the U.S. Lundh is known for his distinct comedic and visual style, bringing vibrancy and freshness to his award-winning short films and ad campaigns.
Lundh’s timeless visuals and honest, observed comedy strike a subdued tonality that informs his understated and sophisticated style. His use of humor to communicate clear messages in his commercial films makes him a much sought-after collaborator for brands and agencies alike. Lundh deftly uses comedy to render keen observations about human nature and ordinary life. This engaging directorial style is helped by Lundh’s concentration on casting and openness to improvisation when working with talent, nailing original and compelling performances.
The originality of Lundh’s humor and pop cultural sensibilities can be seen in many global brand films for large companies like Tesco, Adidas, H&M, HP, Klarna, Fanta, Jarlsberg, and Bosch, to name a few. His short films “Turn Back Time,” “Hearts and Aubergines,” and “People in Cars” have garnered acclaim for their unusual plot points and absurdist humor. “People in Cars,” which earned a Vimeo Staff Pick and gained widespread recognition on the festival circuit across Sweden and Portugal, is currently being developed as a series.
Lundh remarked:
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the Epoch family. I feel perfectly at home with Epoch. They create beautiful films across the board, and I’m a huge fan of all my roster-mates. As I continue to grow in the U.S., I know that I’m in great hands with a team of producers who understand my style of comedy and want to uplift my voice as a filmmaker.”
Melissa Culligan, managing executive producer for Epoch Films, added:
“From the moment I first saw Daniel's work, I was captivated by the characters he developed and the masterful composition of his films. His keen eye, remarkable attention to detail, and refreshing sense of humor truly stand out. Having honed his skills in both the UK and Europe, Daniel is now poised to make a splash in the US market. We are so excited to be working with him at Epoch Films."
