Huggies Turns Blowouts into Horror Stories in Comedic Halloween Campaign
Oct. 31, 2025
Huggies is bringing the horrors of baby blowouts to life this Halloween with a comedic twist through its new “Full-Blown Horror Stories” audio campaign. Created by DAVID, the campaign wraps the everyday nightmare of a blowout in tropes and homage to iconic horror movies, warning that such Halloween frights could be avoided with the help of Huggies.
To keep listeners on their toes, each spot is designed to lead listeners to believe that something truly terrifying is about to happen, only to reveal a more relatable and comedic scare for parents: the mess of a blowout. The misdirect is aided by a rich soundscape that brings the horror of this everyday scenario to its fullest. While the first spot, "Paranormal Stomach Activity," takes inspiration from the found footage genre of horror, the other, "The Messiest Exorcism," takes a more pulp-horror approach.
Lauren Varvara, Executive Creative Director at DAVID said:
"If you have a kid, you know that there are few things as terrifying as when they have a blowout. But the goal of this campaign isn’t to scare people. We wanted to bring out the fun, absurdity, and unexpectedness of these situations, because with Huggies, there’s truly nothing to fear."
The audio campaign was launched yesterday, and will run throughout Halloween, bringing these horror stories to the ears of millions of listeners across the country.
