Oct. 01, 2025
Leagas Delaney London has hired Chris Chapman as its new Head of Design following a string of new business wins. Chapman joins Leagas Delaney from AMV BBDO, where he spent ten years leading its integrated design offering.
Chapman is one of London’s most awarded and respected design leaders. During a decade at AMV BBDO, Chapman was central to its creative success. He oversaw multiple Grand Prix winning campaigns including Essity, Sheba and The Trash Isles, culminating in the agency winning Agency of the Year at Cannes Lions Festival, D&AD and The One Show.
Prior to AMV, Chapman spent two years as Head of Design at Saatchi & Saatchi and four years as Head of Design/Art at BMB. Before AMV, Chapman spent 10 years at BBH. Whilst there, he worked across iconic brands including Levi’s, Audi and British Airways winning awards at D&AD, Campaign BIG, Creative Circle and Cannes Lions.
Chapman is reunited at Leagas Delaney with Neil Clarke and Jay Phillips. The duo joined Leagas Delaney in February 2025 as the agency’s first Creative Partners. Clarke and Phillips said of Chapman’s arrival, “Chris is a truly exceptional talent. He raises the bar on everything he touches. And he’s an incredibly lovely human to be around. Design is well and truly at the heart of everything we do. We’re thrilled to have him onboard”.
Chapman said:
“I’m incredibly excited to join such an iconic independent agency like Leagas Delaney. Design is a fundamental part of creative agencies. It's not an afterthought or a supplement. It’s the very heartbeat. At Leagas Delaney they believe this unequivocally. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can all achieve together”.
Gareth Davies, UK Group CEO, Leagas Delaney said:
“After another strong year for Leagas Delaney, we’ve looked to grow our capabilities across all departments, with a particular focus on outstanding creative and design talent. Chris not only ticks all of those boxes but he is also a remarkable leader with a clear vision for design. We’re delighted to welcome him to the LD team”.
