Neighborhood Watch Signs Award-Winning Director La Pele
Jul. 29, 2026
Neighborhood Watch is proud to welcome Spanish director Andrea Pelegrín, known professionally as La Pele, fresh off winning four Cannes Lions for her short brand film "Bullet Machine.” Pelegrín's advertising roots complement her emotional instincts as a filmmaker, creating spots with lasting resonance.
La Pele began her career as an advertising copywriter in London, eventually moving into art direction, then styling, and ultimately embracing directing. Her well-rounded background uplifts her artistic vision as a director, using cinematic craft to make each film unforgettable. Drawn to vulnerability and vérité filmmaking, La Pele possesses the rare ability to explore intimate subjects like sexuality and interpersonal dynamics with restraint and empathy. A keen observer of human behavior, she tells evocative stories with strong concepts, all grounded in naturalistic, subtle performances.
"Bullet Machine," her film for Mexican newspaper Diario La Unión and international human rights organization Artículo 19, captures the real-life peril and violence journalists face in Mexico. Its Cannes haul included a Gold Lion for Film Craft in Sound Design, a Gold Lion in Film for Corporate Purpose & Social Responsibility, and a Bronze Lion in Film Craft for Directing. Her work directing Sila Lua’s music video for “Basil” won La Pele multiple International Music Video Awards and a Europe Music Video Award. Commercially, La Pele has collaborated with top agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi New York, Ogilvy, Havas, McCann, VML, and Grey to direct campaigns for brands including Coca‑Cola, Toyota, Danone, and P&G.
La Pele said:
"As I enter this next chapter of my career, I couldn’t be more excited to do it with Neighborhood Watch. From the very beginning, I felt they truly understood the way I see the world and the kind of stories I want to tell. Their commitment to bold, emotionally driven filmmaking makes this feel like the perfect creative home, and I can't wait to create films together that stay with audiences."
Dal Wolf, Neighborhood Watch’s Managing Director, added:
"La Pele creates deeply emotional, authentic portraits of people - that’s what we love most about her work. It’s no surprise that brands have already fallen in love with what she does. We’re very excited to have her part of the Neighborhood Watch family."
