Noah Wyle Ranked No. 1 on AARP's Movies for Grownups Hottest Gen X Actors
Jun. 23, 2026
AARP’s Movies for Grownups released a new kind of Hollywood list: the 25 Hottest Gen X Actors. The stars from the generation that grew up on MTV, video rental stores, and long afternoons at the mall are now in their prime, doing some of the sharpest, most compelling work of their careers.
Ranking No. 1 is Noah Wyle, 55, for whom AARP The Magazine created a special digital cover. Wyle, who won an AARP Movies for Grownups Award in January for his work on The Pitt, is joined on the 25 Hottest Gen X Actors list by Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Ryan Gosling, Taye Diggs, and more.
This list celebrates the Gen X actors who bring their rich life experience to every role and embody living well and thriving, whether they’re approaching 50 or recently crossed that milestone. These 25 men have amassed hundreds of award nominations and dozens of wins, from Movies for Grownups Awards and Oscars to Golden Globes and Emmys. They each reflect the reinvention and authenticity that define what it means to get better with age.
Alison Maxwell, senior executive editor of AARP.org said:
“This year's list was built on a clear set of criteria: the quality and ambition of recent work, awards recognition, cultural resonance, and the rare ability to hold an audience's attention not just for a moment but across decades. For actors like Noah Wyle, Hugh Jackman, Pedro Pascal and Sterling K. Brown, their presence here is a testament to exactly that.”
