London Edit House, The Quarry, has signed US Editors Mah Ferraz and Aika Miyake for UK representation.

Mah and Aika are both award winning film editors with an edgy style and masterful touch. They join some of London’s hottest editing talent at an exciting time for the creative community as we emerge from lockdown.

Mah Ferraz is well known for her elegant use of sound design and rhythm to her work and has worked with an enviable list of brands such as Nike, Adidas, Apple Music, Spotify, Instagram, ESPN, Vogue, Marc Jacobs, Volvo, Grey Goose, Marriott, and the NFL.  She’s also cut promos for many high profile artists including Rosalía, A$AP Rocky, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, and Mariah Carey.

A Latinx woman, Mah is an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and has utilised her editing skills to speak out in collaborations such as Oreo's “Proud Parent” and Megan Thee Stallion's New York Times Op-Ed piece, “Why I speak up for Black Women.”

In 2019, Mah became the first editor to become a Young Gun. Mah has been awarded numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze Editing metalware at Clios, Gold at ADC, a D&AD Graphite pencil, a Bronze Cannes Lions plus wins at the Webbys and Berlin Commercial Festival. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Nowness, Paper Magazine, Vogue, Elle Magazine, The Atlantic, It's Nice That, and has also been Vimeo Staff Picked six times.

Tokyo-raised, California-educated Aika Miyake is a former drummer who professes to see edits like rhythms. The result is work that thrums with a heartbeat, with soul. A member of Free The Work, Aika is known for evocative and imaginative work, spanning many genres and styles. She has collaborated with the likes of Wieden + Kennedy, Nike, Dentsu, TBWA, Mercedes Benz, and BMW.

Aika has been awarded at AICP Next and shortlisted for editing at Cannes, Spikes, New York Festivals, ACC, and Ad Stars.

Mah said:

“I'm super excited to be joining The Quarry's family and work alongside such an amazing roster. The UK's industry has been so creatively inspiring and I can't wait for what's to come!”

Aika added:

“Editing is my calling in life and I’m at my happiest when I’m cutting and being challenged by creative projects. This year marks 15 years since I picked up a Wacom pen back in Tokyo. I’m excited to kick off my 15th year with The Quarry family.”

Quarry Co-Founding Partner Paul Watts comments:

“We are super excited that Mah and Aika have chosen to be repped by The Quarry for UK projects.  With what I could only describe as a meteoric rise, they’ve been making some major waves recently, picking up numerous awards, and doing some really outstanding work. To have them working alongside us here in London is a great opportunity, and I hope that we can contribute to their current momentum.”

Mah and Aika are repped by Cut+Run in the US.
