Toyota's RAV4 Crashes a Wedding in New Gulf States Toyota Campaign
Jul. 09, 2026
Gulf States Toyota and Erich & Kallman have launched "Just Married," a new campaign for the 2026 RAV4 where the car steals the spotlight at a wedding.
The spot leans into the humor of a couple’s “just married” exit from their ceremony, using the wedding party's reactions to play up the attention the RAV4 commands.
Rikesh Lal, Executive Creative Director of Erich & Kallman said:
“In a crowded SUV category, a lot of advertising tries to compensate by pushing harder and louder. We took the opposite approach. The RAV4 doesn’t need to announce itself as desirable because people already see it that way.”
Ryan Ebner, who directed the spot for ArtClass, said:
"Comedy like this is simple, but not easy. It's about restraint. The premise does most of the work—a bride and groom getting upstaged by a RAV4 is funny on its face. The script and concept were airtight. The key was to cast a wedding party that we all recognize and sharpen the friction between them. So we sculpted those characters and kept the performances understated and real. Same instinct as the car—you don't have to oversell something that already works."
Meghan Haslemann, VP of Marketing at Gulf States Toyota, said:
“The RAV4 has always earned its place through reliability and everyday value, not hype. Now, with its sleek exterior, refined interior, and smarter tech, it looks as confident as it performs. This campaign captures that in a way that feels authentic. We’re confident enough to let the car do the talking.”
The campaign was designed to build desire and make RAV4 worth the wait, leaning on long-term value, quality, dependability, and everyday usability rather than just style and trends.
Media will run across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana via linear sports/news, CTV (Amazon, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, Peacock, Tubi), cinema (NCM, ScreenVision), and social, live now through April 2027.
