Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Göteborg Film Festival announce five Nordic drama series for the NOK 200,000 (€17,000) Nordic Series Script Award. The Nordic Series Awards, which include the Nordic Series Script Award and the Creative Courage Award, celebrate excellence in Nordic drama and are presented by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

The series nominated for the Nordic Series Script Award: Secrets We Keep (Denmark, nominated writer Ingeborg Topsøe), Queen of Fucking Everything (Finland, nominated writer Tiina Lymi), Vigdis (Iceland, nominated writers Ágústa M. Ólafsdóttir and Björg Magnúsdóttir), A Better Man (Norway, nominated writer Thomas Seeberg Torjussen), My Brother (Sweden, nominated writer Karin Arrhenius).

The Nordic Series Awards includes the Nordic Series Script Award, that recognises outstanding screenwriting in Nordic drama. Presented annually at Göteborg Film Festival’s TV Drama Vision, it carries forward the legacy of its predecessor, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize. The prestigious award of NOK 200,000 (€17,000) is financed by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, and given to the main writer(s) of a Nordic drama series that premiered in 2025.

The winners of the Nordic Series Awards will be announced at an award ceremony during TV Drama Vision on January 27, 2026.

Liselott Forsman, CEO at Nordisk Film & TV Fond said:

“Nordisk Film & TV Fond celebrates daily the excellence of Nordic drama quality through our top financing schemes. Since no productions happen without the visions and skills of Nordic creators and writers, each year we want to shed extra spotlight to the talents behind outstanding drama series – one from each Nordic country. I want to thank the selected writers for their inspiring work, Göteborg Film Festival for our good collaboration and our international jury for accepting the challenging task of selecting the Nordic winner.”

Cia Edström, Head of TV Drama Vision at Göteborg Film Festival said:

“We’re proud to once again celebrate some of the most talented screenwriters from the Nordics. The nominated series for 2026 vary in tone and style, but they share a common strength: bold, compelling storytelling that offers hope for the future of drama in the Nordics.”

Additionally, the honorable mention, Creative Courage Award, celebrates the producer and commissioner of a series that boldly pushes creative boundaries and embraces innovation. The Creative Courage recipient is selected from admissions by the Nordic streamers and broadcasters.

The jury for the Nordic Series Script Award is Agnes Kittelsen, Actor, Norway; Nanna Frank Rasmussen, Journalist, Film and TV Reviewer, Denmark; Henning Kamm, Executive Producer and Managing Director, REAL FILM Berlin, Germany.

The 2025 Nordic Series Script Award winner was Pelle Rådström for the Swedish drama Pressure Point.
