Ad of the Day | Meet Boston Says "Welcome World" in New Campaign by Allen & Gerritsen
Jun. 05, 2026
There are moments when a city has the chance to say something bigger about itself, and this summer, Meet Boston aims to do just that as the hot spot for both international and domestic travelers to experience one of the most historic summers in America’s history. From the FIFA World Cup to the arrival of the tall ships from around the globe, to America’s 250th birthday celebration, Meet Boston is proving that there’s no better place to celebrate than in America’s birthplace: Boston.
In its new campaign spot crafted by creative agency Allen & Gerritsen (A&G), Meet Boston positions itself as a welcoming, world-class destination defined by energy, openness, and a spirit of global connection. “Welcome World” is a :60 film that follows Boston hospitality workers, restaurateurs, tour guides, small business owners, and communities preparing to welcome the world to Boston. Set to the song “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands”(reimagined to say “We’ve Got the Whole World…”), it illuminates the inclusive spirit of Bostonians working hard day in and day out to make their city the most welcoming place in the world. The spot will run across broadcast, radio, OLV, socials, OOH, print, and display.
Lindsay Milne Grant, VP Marketing of Meet Boston said:
“While a lot of headlines right now can make America feel divided or unwelcoming, our team wanted to tell a different story and ensure that everyone knows they are safe and welcome in Boston. Our story is rooted in the real people who make Boston feel open, human, and alive every single day, and who shape the spirit of this city and our cultural pride. A&G met the moment once again, and we are so excited for the world to see this spot.”
The soundtrack was built from the city itself. Real voices, whistles, hums, conversations, and the everyday sounds of Boston were captured while shooting and transformed into a custom anthem in collaboration with Gratitude Sound. Layered in with “[We’ve] Got the Whole World In [Our] Hands,” the result feels like the heartbeat of a city preparing to welcome the world.
Jen Putnam, Chief Creative Officer at A&G said:
“Welcome World is a reminder that the best place to tell the story of a city is through the people who truly give it its soul. That’s why we wanted to showcase the real people of Boston and use an anthemic, heartfelt song to invoke a sense of community and togetherness that is at the core of why we travel.”
