Chewy Launches New Ad Campaign Celebrating the Unique Personalities of Pets Through Tailored Offerings

Aug. 20, 2024

Have you ever noticed our pets’ names often take inspiration from their personalities or lifestyle? Newest campaign charmingly leans into this, introducing a variety of pets whose names perfectly match their very distinctive traits and behaviors. And because every Chewy order is customized to satisfy every pet’s unique tastes, the campaign showcases our ability to deliver whatever pets and pet parents need to live their best lives together.

From food to pharmacy, the spots showcase the breadth of Chewy's offerings, while also calling attention to customers' favorite features – from the repeat savings of Autoship, to the endless selection on the Chewy App, to the fast delivery that ties it all together. Each spot also demonstrates the proud promise of campaign platform: For life with pets, there’s Chewy with everything.

Created in-house by Chewy, the furry and feathery stars of our TV spots include:

  • Cash, the bodega cat: Cash has been employee of the month every month at Bill’s Bodega for as long as anyone can remember. And though the bodega has everything all the humans in the neighborhood need, Bill uses Chewy to get everything Cash loves delivered at great prices. Because happy employees are good for business.
  • Roo, the very vocal dog: Roo is one very vocal golden retriever who loves nothing more than yapping it up around the house. Among the many topics Roo is known to discuss, his favorite might be his love for the food his parents order with Chewy Autoship. Because not only is it delicious, it always shows up right on schedule.
  • Summit, the adventure dog: Simply put, Summit was born for the outdoors. Whether it’s running up a trail or laying down in a creek — wherever there’s fresh air, that's where you'll find her. Thankfully her pet parents understand that loving a dog that loves the outdoors comes with the risk of fleas, ticks and allergens. So they use Chewy to get her prescriptions taken care of.
  • Radar, the sound sniffing dog: Radar lives up to his name thanks to a pair of ears that just don’t miss. And there’s nothing he loves hearing more than the ping of a Chewy delivery because it’s how he knows all his favorite items are on their way. He also loves hearing the squawking voice of his feathery brother from another breed Echo, who also gets the goods from Chewy. (Launching 12/30 on linear TV

According to a Chewy survey of 1,000 pet parents, pet names are most inspired by appearance, pop culture characters, personality traits, and behavior. Chewy customers also love these names for their pets, with 37K pets named Cash, 14K pets named Roo, 6,783 pets named Radar, and the most unique, Summit, with only 1,975 pets.
