Dan Howarth Joins McCann London as Head of Art
Feb. 10, 2017
Dan Howarth, who most recently worked at Interbrand as a creative director, has been briefed to help craft the agency’s entire design function with a digital focus. He joins McCann London and will work across the agency’s clients, reporting into the co-presidents and executive creative directors Rob Doubal and Lol Thomson.
Howarth has worked on creating digital experiences for brands throughout his 20-year career and has also run his own design consultancy, Eskimo8, in this space for over a decade. He recently picked up a Silver Lion in the 2014 Cannes Festival for “The Momondo Friend Compass’ – an app he created through Eskimo8 in conjunction with McCann London. Other notable work at Eskimo8 includes work with Mother, The Partners and Deloitte.
Howarth began his career as an early pioneer in the design of interactive CD-Roms and videos for major music artists such as Blur and the Beastie Boys.
In recent years Howarth has held Creative Director roles at TAG Worldwide and Landor Associates in addition to Interbrand and concurrently to owning his own consultancy.
Laurence (Lolly) Thomson said:
“With his digital expertise, Dan will be a huge asset in driving forward our design and branding work with an exciting and innovative vision. We are lucky enough to have collaborated with Dan on award-winning work, and we’re delighted that he is now a bona fide member of the team.”
Howarth added:
“Having worked with McCann London in the past, I’m so pleased to be joining the agency. Their scope and ambition – alongside their incredible successes of 2016 – make it a great place to be right now.”
