Rates of melanoma have been rising rapidly over the past few decades. Wunderman Thompson Health has created an easy way to identify melanoma, the cause of 75% of skin cancer deaths that could be 99% prevented with early detection.
The agency and Brazilian-based Horaios Dermatology Clinic created DiagnostiCookies, an easy visual guide for identifying melanoma. Melanoma moles resemble cookies, and the images on their website provide a side-by-side comparison of cookies resembling healthy moles vs melanoma moles, showing the differences in size, color, shape, and texture. Throughout Brazil, these (real!) boxes of cookies have been delivered to dermatologists’ offices and shared with influencers to spread awareness.
