Director Joachim Zunke Signs With Good Times Production for US Representation

Good Times announces the signing of Joachim (Jojo) Zunke to their talent roster. The newly launched production company will represent Zunke for commercial and branded content in the US. He was previously represented by Society.

Zunke rose to international prominence with his highly acclaimed spot, "The Thief," heralded as AdWeek’s Ad of the Day. Described as a “break[ing] the mold of unreasonably lustrous hair advertising” the hilariously woven spot is narrated by a woman robbed by her daily commute, agonizing alongside lost souls tragically unkempt by the arduous journey to the office who envy the ‘mystery girl’ with the perfect hair. In addition to this seminal piece, his commercial work spans across automotive, beauty and sport for global brands including Vogue, Cadillac, Adidas, Mini Cooper and artists such as Brooklyn Beckham, Sadie Sink, Judith Hill, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Akua Naru, Gallon Drunk, and Ton Steine Scherben.

On the agency collaboration process, Zunke elaborates:

"If you are creative, you just do this stuff because you have a visual feeling. It’s freeing to follow an idea. When you work alongside other creatives who get that all of the sudden you feel at home. You start to see eye to eye and take away that fear of the unknown."

His recent projects with BMW for the M-Series and i Vision Circular are meticulously tailored worlds, highlighting Zunke’s penchant for pulling audiences in with dynamic camera work, rich textures, color and shadows.

Executive Producer Corwin Carrol commented:

"Eric and I love car work and we love what Jojo brings to it. It's such a fresh take and it captures a visual style that doesn't even exist on a shooting pyramid – this creativity and movement is present through all of his work."

Zunke’s first immersion into film came from his father who enjoyed analog photography, running around with his Nikon and Pentex cameras. When Zunke became a musician at a young age he absorbed all the creative hustle of being in a band, capturing photography for album artwork, designing promotional collages and eventually shooting music videos. His desire to create dramatic, distinctly modern and profoundly unique images led him further into the music video scene and ultimately to directing commercials worldwide.

Executive Producer Eric McCasline shared:

"Jojo’s easy to get along with, talented and smart. We started Good Times to spend time with people we want to get a meal with, and we get to experience that camaraderie and connection with Jojo. It’s awesome to have him on board."

Zunke added:

"When you decide to launch a company, it comes from having another drive. Good Times is taking a totally new shot at how to do things and it’s great to be a part of that."
