Global award-winning editorial company Cut+Run welcomes Hanna Sturwold to its roster of extraordinary talent. Hailing from Chicago, Hanna found her calling as an editor during her teenage years. Currently based in Los Angeles, her dynamic and bold cuts have made their way to international film festivals, beloved commercials, and prestige streaming television.
Driven by instinct, heart, and a deep love for storytelling, Hanna’s editorial sensibilities shape narrative arcs and subtly guide audiences on compelling journeys through thoughtfully selected shots. Always working towards building tension or landing a cinematic punch, every cut is executed with the utmost craftsmanship and eye for transforming raw footage into an immersive experience. Her skills have been recognized with awards for Best Editing at the 2024 Film Olympiad for her work on the short film “Boxed.” Additionally, Hanna has won editing accolades from FFTG, the Garoa Awards, and the Short Stop International Film Festival for her work editing the short “The Gesture And The Word.”
Other narrative projects of Hanna’s include the Cannes Emerging Filmmaker Showcase shorts “The German King” and “Irish Goodbye.” She has also worked on serialized hit TV shows, such as “Physical” on Apple+ and “The Resort” on Peacock. Hanna edited the documentary “Under The Influence” which premiered at SXSW and told the unbelievably true story of the meteoric rise and inevitable downfall of major YouTubers. Her textured and emotional edits can be seen in many commercials and brand campaigns for Nike, Infiniti, Snickers, Adidas, Google, Disney, Intel, and Bottega Veneta, as well as networks like NBC and Amazon Studios.
Hanna Sturwold on signing remarked:
“What attracted me to Cut+Run was their reputation as a creative and collaborative powerhouse. Cut+Run has a team of talented, like-minded individuals who push the boundaries of what editing can do. I love how they combine cutting-edge techniques with a passion for storytelling. The opportunity to work on such diverse projects was a huge draw. I’m all about creating work that stands out and resonates, and Cut+Run feels like the perfect place to continue growing while working with some of the best in the business.”
Amburr Farls, Managing Partner at Cut+Run, added:
