Ex-BBH And Wieden+Kennedy Creative Team Appointed Partners And CCOs Of Jung von Matt Group
Apr. 25, 2022
In August 2022, Daniel Schaefer and Szymon Rose will be returning to Jung von Matt, where they teamed up back in 2006. Thanks to its recent strong growth and increase in global projects, the agency group wants to invest more in its creative output ‒ with a focus on global clients.
Following their first spell at Jung von Matt in the mid-2000s, Schaefer and Rose joined BBH London, where they became partners in 2012 and worked on award-winning campaigns for clients like Axe/Lynx, British Airways, and Johnnie Walker. In 2014, they moved to Wieden+Kennedy in Amsterdam, where they were running the global accounts for Samsung Galaxy A and Facebook.
Over the course of their career, Schaefer and Rose have won every major industry award, including Lions, Clios, Arrows and Pencils. And they’ve left an enduring mark on the brands they led to success down the years.
At Jung von Matt, the duo will develop the agency group's creative agenda and assume global responsibility for its creative output. Together with the ECDs of each Jung von Matt agency, Schaefer and Rose will draw on their international experience to coach, expand and support the teams.
Jung von Matt CEO Peter Figge says:
"With Daniel and Szymon, we have brought on two ideal candidates at just the right time. Because only the best will do in a period of strong growth and increase in international projects at the JvM Group. Their experience from working in leading international creative agencies and their work on numerous world-renowned brands will not only benefit our clients, but also our over 1,100 colleagues."
Daniel Schaefer and Szymon Rose said:
"The influence that Jung von Matt has had on the industry over the past 30 years is undeniable, and we have the utmost respect for the agency. Weʼre incredibly excited at the opportunity to work with people we really admire and to help the agency group unlock even more of its creative potential. It simply feels right to come back home to the place after nearly 14 years of traveling, back to where everything began."
Jung von Matt was founded in Hamburg in 1991 and today is a global, independent agency group with offices in 9 countries across Europe, Asia and the US. It is – in terms of awards for both creativity and efficiency – the most awarded agency in German-speaking countries and was named Independent Agency of the Year in Cannes in 2010 and 2018. Its client roster includes Adidas, BOSCH, FIFA, HUAWEI, Hyundai, McDonald´s, NIVEA and Vodafone.
