For a Great Deal, whatever it Takes. That's LEROY MERLIN's new Campaign for the Great Home Party

For a Great Deal, whatever it Takes. That's LEROY MERLIN's new Campaign for the Great Home Party

We wait for Black Friday, the winter sales, Cyber Monday... We are always waiting for a better deal to come along. We have learned to hold off on certain purchases until the right momento, and when it comes to our homes, we sometimes delay so long that we end up getting used to living with the very things we wanted to fix.

This insight inspired “The deals you’ve been waiting for”, the new campaign created by Ogilvy Spain for LEROY MERLIN’s annual Great Home Party. With it, the company aims to make this promotion a date people recognize, one that anyone thinking of renovating their home has marked on the calendar.

  • Taking the wait to the limit

The spots take us into three homes where families have pushed their wait for the Great Home Party as far as it will go. In a bathroom still missing a vanity unit, a father manually uncaps the water pipe with his hand every time his son wants to "turn on the tap." In a floorless kitchen, a couple gets around however they can, hopping across the furniture and even swinging from the lamp. Meanwhile, in a chilly living room, a couple and their dog brave the cold, buried under blankets, coats, and scarves until they can finally grab a discounted pellet stove.

  • Selling through storytelling

Sergio Vicente, Brand and Communication Director at LEROY MERLIN Spain explained:

“In a landscape where every brand is talking about offers and discounts, the challenge was ensuring this campaign didn't end up feeling like just another price communication. That’s why we decided to take the wait for the Great Home Party to the limit, staging comedic situations that emphasize the importance of the promotion. We also wanted to show that a tactical campaign can still have personality, build brand equity, and be unmistakably LEROY MERLIN.”

Ramiro Alda and Jorge Calvo, Creative Directors at Ogilvy Spain, added:

“We’ve all waited for the sales to buy something at one point or another. But the Great Home Party is worth waiting for to absurd lengths. We wanted people to recognize themselves, laugh, and think: ‘Okay, maybe it’s finally time to fix this.’ Well, now is the time.”

Produced by The Production Club with post-production by WPP Production, the campaign features a 360º rollout across TV, CTV, digital, OOH (out-of-home), display, and radio (both conventional and digital).

With “The deals you've been waiting for,” LEROY MERLIN continues to lean on humor as a key tool to connect with audiences, reinforcing the brand’s distinct voice campaign after campaign.
