Late Shift Signs Director Emily Elizabeth Thomas
Mar. 10, 2026
Late Shift signs director Emily Elizabeth Thomas, expanding its roster with a filmmaker known for her punk-feminine perspective, whimsical production design, and story-driven commercial work.
A Texas-born filmmaker, Emily directs visually distinctive campaigns that make you feel like she’s one project away from finding a cult following. With a strong emphasis on production design, tone, and performance, she creates exaggerated worlds that balance whimsy with emotional clarity. Her films challenge traditional ideas of femininity while celebrating softness as strength. She has collaborated with brands including Disney, Southwest Airlines, Dell, Bacardi, Garnier Fructis, and Maybelline, working with talent such as Sarah Michelle Gellar and Martha Stewart. Her approach blends spectacle with sincerity, resulting in work that feels confident, playful, and emotionally precise.
Emily’s narrative voice has also earned a devoted following. Her viral web series Keily developed a cult audience in 2024 for its offbeat, big-hearted take on teen girlhood, leading to her feature debut, Keily: Homecoming Dweeb. The film revives the high-gloss energy of early-2000s rom-coms through a contemporary feminine lens and premiered at Los Angeles’ historic Saban Theatre with a red-carpet event hosted by Jesse Metcalfe.
With a background spanning celebrity-driven campaigns, beauty, alcohol, and narrative experience, Emily brings a distinctive, commercially fluent voice to Late Shift – combining theatrical world-building with culturally resonant storytelling.
Emily was previously signed with ArtClass and Sibling Rivalry and is now represented by Late Shift.
