Leeds United and Red Bull Bring New Yorkers Home

Jul. 28, 2026

To launch the 26/27 home kit, Leeds United Football Club and Red Bull have teamed up with Run Deep to create an experiential pop up in New York, the ‘New Yorkshire’ cafe, whilst the team plays on their US pre-season tour.

New York is named after the UK’s Duke of York, binding New Yorkers and those from Leeds together through history. The historic relationship bled into behaviour with unexpected similarities visible between the two neighbourhoods separated by the Atlantic… contrary, loud and unapologetic.

In an attempt to return New Yorkers to their roots, Leeds United Football Club and Red Bull have created The New Yorkshire Cafe, a one-day pop up activation supported on social media.

Plugging into Brooklyn’s authentic football scene, the New Yorkshire Cafe will take over Socceria, Brooklyn’s hottest new sports bar from the Taqueria Ramirez team. Here fans will find an establishment which blends the aesthetics of a New York sports bar with a good ol’ British Cafe serving British-American fusion plates dished up by Leeds legends including Tony Dorigo, Michael Bridges, Jermaine Beckford & Lucas Radebe. The event also features a live DJ set and Q&A hosted by content creator and presenter Khendrick Beausoleil.

Robbie Evans, Managing Director, Leeds United Football Club said:

“We are delighted with the success of our pre-season tour to the US so far. To have the full squad together to help celebrate our new home kit has been brilliant. We had all of the players in the new jersey at a special New York x Yorkshire inspired event, which saw us turn Socceria in the heart of Brooklyn into the New Yorkshire Cafe. The support we’ve seen out here in the US hasn’t surprised me or anyone who knows how well loved this club is the world over, and we look forward to seeing even more of the global Leeds United family on Thursday at the Sports Illustrated Stadium for our next match against Sunderland as our preparations for the Premier League continue.”

Current players will also be making an appearance, including New Jersey native and USA World Cup team member, Brenden Aaronson, who will be onsite and appearing in social content.

The pop up, ideated by Run Deep and produced by Bagavagabonds, was open to VIP guests last night
