Acclaimed post-production house Lost Planet welcomes editor Doug Yablun to its roster of award-winning talent. After years of working as a Lead Assistant Editor, Doug makes the leap to Editor, bringing familiarity and a wealth of experience to the role.

Doug’s career started in Los Angeles, where he began editing for YouTube channels Smosh and Clevver. He later worked as an assistant colorist with Company 3 before returning to his editorial roots and joining Lost Planet. An editor with big-picture thinking, Doug combs through hours of footage to unearth outtakes or subtle moments before “action” or after “cut,” giving the story added texture and depth. This holistic approach takes everything into artistic consideration, leaving no stone unturned.

Doug edited campaigns for Nike, American Express, Pinterest, and an MLS social-first campaign featuring soccer star Lionel Messi, engendering a sense of creative trust amongst agencies and top brands. He also edited the music video for Hank May’s “Morgana.” In addition to his commercial projects, Doug edited the feature film Portal to Hell, which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and is set for a limited theatrical release this summer. His narrative work includes short films such as Ascension, I’m Not Okay, and A Little Love Story.

Doug Yablun remarks on signing:

“I saw an assistant editor job posting, and for some reason, they decided to take a chance on me. From then on, everyone at Lost Planet has become family to me. Their approach to editing and collaboration has been a huge inspiration to me. I’m thrilled to join the roster officially.”

Gary Ward, Lost Planet Executive Producer, added:

“Doug has become a very talented editor. He’s extremely creative and collaborative. He’s a pleasure to have in the edit bay, and he’s wonderful with clients. He has quickly gained the trust and respect of both directors and agency creatives alike. We are
very excited to see where his career goes from here.”
