Mah Ferraz Opens New Edit House "Church"

Apr. 25, 2024

Church is a congregation of globally-minded Film Editors who seek to bring creative visions to life. The new edit house, led by award-winning Editor Mah Ferraz, will represent a team on the cutting edge of culture, inspiring trends and embracing diversity and innovation in all forms.

Mah has over 70 awards to date for her editing work, including accolades and nominations from Cannes Lions, D&AD, Webby Awards, Clio Awards, VMAs, AICP, The One Show, Berlin Commercial, Ciclope, among others. She was the first Film Editor to become a Young Gun in 2019, and the first Film Editor and receiver of ADC's "Freelancer of The Year" in 2020. Most recently, she was selected as a Forbes “30 Under 30” Nominee in 2022.  Her films were selected as Vimeo Staff Pick numerous times and featured in premium press outlets like The New York Times, Vogue, Nowness, Paper Magazine, and Elle Magazine, among many others. Her brand clients include Meta, Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, Spotify, Visa, Calvin Klein, Google, Puma, and Amex, and her work in the music industry brought Mah into collaboration with artists like Doja Cat, Rosalía, Megan Thee Stallion, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Nas X.

A Brazilian Film Editor widely recognized in the industry as a creative force leading the future of post-production, Mah is a natural fit to spearhead Church. A tasteful, forward-thinking, and edgy ideology makes it an edit house synonymous with unorthodox, original artistry. They are an artist-driven house that champions the nuances of creative workflow, favoring holistic collaboration that produces elite and impactful work. Church leans into change, bucking against archaic structures to challenge antiquated thoughts of post-production, all while making great work with high-level production support.

Church creates culture and welcomes nuances of personalities and artistry. Its logo, which plays with perspective and movement, symbolizes Church’s open-minded mentality and commitment to evolution and growth. The new edit house generates a change in post-production by trusting that its artists' diverse points of view will translate to the product, making it inherently unique and meaningful, thereby changing consumers and, therefore, society. While editing will be Church’s primary focus, they will also use their office space as a platform for an array of artists and art forms, including events intended to inspire, like creative panels, screenings, and exhibits.

Mah of spearheading the edit house said:

“Church is an extension and expansion of my DNA and vision. We’re building a post house with a global perspective, incredible talent, and inspiring culture. My partners and I are creating a team that is as excited and inspired by the vision, and I believe that if the change comes from the top, it trickles down and is contagious. Church’s office will be a safe space for everyone who wants to feel inspired and find community. As a Latin woman and part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I also want to welcome, promote, and give visibility to people and matters I relate to and are close to my heart. We’re creating our own ‘Church’ but encouraging everyone to feel like it’s theirs too.”
