McCann London adds most awarded UK ad agency to 2016 accolades

The Clio Awards in New York today announced McCann London as the show’s Agency of the Year for the UK. The agency’s title has been confirmed following its whopping four Gold and five Silver awards haul at the ceremony in October.

This was in addition to its six Clio Key Art Awards presented in LA in October: three Gold, a Silver, a Bronze and the highly covetable Clio Art Grand.

McCann London is ending the year on a high having picked up 20 Cannes Lions and 26 Eurobest Awards, making it the UK’s most awarded agency at both shows this year. It also became the second most awarded agency internationally at both the New York-based Clio Awards and Las Vegas-based London International Award (LIAs).

In addition, McCann London had the joint second most awarded campaign at Cannes Lions 2016 with “Survival Billboard” winning 18 Lions – and beaten only by its sister agency McCann New York for “Field Trip to Mars”.

McCann London’s “Survival Billboard” campaign for Xbox’s Tomb Raider saw Lara Croft fans stand on a billboard in London for 24 hours and get pelted with harsh weather conditions. The campaign’s success was thanks to an integrated effort across four of McCann Worldgroup UK’s agencies: McCann London, Momentum, MRM/Meteorite and Craft.
