Global production company NEO Studios (discovery+’s Legacy: In the Shadow of Greatness) and New World Distribution (Netflix’s Down to Earth with Zac Efron) have partnered for an eight-part docuseries that follows 12 retired NFL players as they navigate life after their professional football careers. Featuring DeMarcus Ware, DeMarcus Ware, Thomas Q. Jones and more, Life After premieres Tuesday, October 18, exclusively on Prime Video.

The series is presented by Visa and produced in partnership with Vista and Indeed.

Many former NFL players struggle with the transition from their professional football careers to the next phase of their lives. Each episode of Life After will spotlight different athletes – including Ware, Adams, Jones, Bear Pascoe, Al Baker, Justin Forsett, Jeff Allen, Andrew Hawkins, Domenik Hixon, Sherrod Martin, Daniel Wilcox and Myron Rolle – showcasing how these NFL legends have dealt with this difficult adjustment and their journeys to self-discovery.

From neurosurgery and competitive steer wrestling to the cookie business and beyond, Life After highlights how these athletes transformed their passion for football into their second acts.

Through intimate interviews with the NFL pros and their closest family members and friends, Life After takes the athletes back to where it all started, providing an inspiring look at their ascent to NFL stardom, as well as a deep dive into their unique post-football endeavors, offering viewers a glimpse at the men behind the uniform.

NEO Studios' Head of Unscripted and Life After Executive Producer Mike Basone said:

“These athletes were so iconic in their football careers that their post-NFL lives are largely overlooked. One of our specialties at NEO is uncovering these under-explored and unexpected stories from the sports world, and 'Life After' is right in our sweet spot in that it highlights universal themes, including mental health and identity struggles, all while telling a story of human triumph. Audiences everywhere, sports fans and beyond, will be rooting for these individuals in their new endeavors.”

Jones added:

"Life After" gives NFL fans a unique glimpse into our lives as vulnerable and ambitious men. I’m honored to produce this incredible piece of content."

Life After was created by Paul Hutchens and produced by NEO Studios, New World Distribution and Forever Holiday. Melanie Capacia Johnson and Basone serve as executive producers for NEO Studios. For Life After Productions, Hutchens, Luke Arreguin (Forever Holiday), Thomas Q. Jones (Midnight Train Productions) and Brandon Miree (Black in Hollywood) executive produce, with Martha Sanchez serving as associate producer. Cary Floyd executive produces for New World; Griffin Gmelich and Quincy Newell (TwentyOne14 Media) also executive produce. The series was directed by Nick Ruff.
