Papaya Films Launches 2017 Toyota Camry New Spot from Andreas Grassl
May. 22, 2017
International production company Papaya Films was tapped by Toyota Motor Europe to launch the 2017 Toyota Camry with a bold new spot. “The Boxer” was directed by Papaya’s Andreas Grassl and elegantly captures themes of victory and strength – in the boardroom, in the boxing ring, and on the road.
Following a competitive young businessman through his work day in a high-powered business environment, and evening activities at an underground boxing club, the spot cleverly utilizes match frames to highlight similar movements as he navigates a turn in his Camry, lands a deal, and throws a punch. The sleek yet dynamic visuals help to underscore the power of both the new Camry and its driver. Grassl and the Papaya team shot on location in Dubai, which provided an eye-catching skyline and roadside designs as well as impressive business interiors.
Stephane Rydlewski, Toyota Europe Campaign Manager, said:
“Andreas and the Papaya team were great partners on this project and brought the idea to life in such a strong way – the vibrant visuals and story seamlessly blend to make the viewers feel like they’re part of this powerful journey”
Andreas Grassl added:
“For the new Camry we wanted to tell a story where both the car and its driver are built for success. It was a pleasure collaborating with Toyota and Adwise to bring this idea to life – there was a lot of planning involved to get those interesting match frames and juxtapositions, and the entire team worked together to come up with creative solutions.”
