Picture North Welcomes Editor Chris Amos

The acclaimed boutique production and post-production company, Picture North, is proud to announce the signing of editor Chris Amos. The newest addition to Picture North’s impressive roster of talent, Chris has edited a wide range of films that include nearly every genre, tone, and format.

Chris grounds his cuts in each film's environment, making his process flexible and supportive while allowing him to collaborate with a wide range of filmmakers and adapt to their sensibilities. As a result, Chris’s editing work adds depth to his documentaries, brings nuance to his narrative films, and amplifies the comedic timing in the commercials he cuts.

Chris is the editor behind the award-winning “Make It” for Squarespace, directed by Spike Jonze and starring Idris Elba and Lolly Adefope, garnering an AICP for Humor & Performance, AICP Next for Viral/Web Film, as well as a Webby and D&AD Wood Pencil. He cut the documentary “Dear Glenn” for Yamaha, which won a Cannes Silver Lion and tells the story of using AI to revive pianist Glenn Gould's artistry. Other select brand clients include Hanes, Dick’s Sporting Goods, GMC, Meta, Samsung, Planet Fitness, IKEA, Converse, Google, NBA, Sony, Patagonia, and King’s Hawaiian featuring Guy Fieri.

His long-form work spans major comedy specials, including Make Happy by Bo Burnham and Comedy Camisado by Hannibal Buress for Netflix, as well as 8 by Jerrod Carmichael, which premiered on HBO. He also edited the feature documentary Songs About F—ing, which screened at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Chris Amos on signing with Picture North remarked:

“It was a full-circle moment. After working in the industry for many years, I realized that all of the work I enjoyed the most—which also happened to be my best work—was done with my friends; I’ve known Ryan and Martin since college, so it seemed like a great opportunity to team up with them again and continue that trend.”

Executive Producer and Founder of Picture North, Martin Rodahl, added:

“Chris adds both breadth and specialization to the Picture North roster, which is a rare thing these days. Since our days together at Northwestern University, Chris has built an impressive reel that connects with our current style and body of work, but more importantly pushes our creative ambitions forward and closes the gap on the work we’re pursuing tomorrow. His energy is infectious and I’m proud to welcome him to our family.”
