Planta Presents Two Guides to Decarbonize the Advertising Industry During Climate Week NYC

Oct. 06, 2022

With the aim of decarbonizing the advertising industry, Planta held the "Less Conversation, More Action" Expo within the Climate Week NYC, the largest global cycle of events on climate change, where they presented the documents "Guide for Sustainable Film Productions and Events" and "Guide for Sustainable and Accessible Webs".

Both of them available for free download on the agency's website, for creatives, marketers,  producers, designers and developers, the guides include advice on Hosting, Design, Web Development, Accessibility, Energy, Transport, Materials, Waste and Catering.

The show included a multimedia experience with interactive games that invited people to review the usual Storydoing and Storytelling of the advertising industry, with a humorous learning-by-doing methodology.

GiGi Gutiérrez, Executive Director of Planta said:

“These guides represent the culmination of three years of hard work, research, development, trial and error. It is time to take action, the motto now is ‘Every Job is a Climate Job’, and the advertising industry, that has historically contributed to promoting unconscious lineal consumption, must rise to the occasion and put its talent at the service of the fight against the climate crisis."

The agency also took the streets by joining the Climate Strike, where they drew attention to creativity’s power on consumer behavior.

Nicolás Ibarra Angotzi, Executive Producer said:

“It is in these spaces where we find the inspiration to challenge, even further, our own limits for climate action. As always, we are proud to represent Latin America in these spaces, but it is time to make a call to our colleagues in the region: with the climate crisis coming through the window, we are already in the situation that if we do not act, we are part of the problem."
