Proud Mary Pizzeria: A Psychedelic New Chapter for East London Dining

East London’s most colourful culinary collision has officially landed. This Saturday Proud Mary Pizzeria opens its doors: a bold, buzzing collaboration between neighbourhood legends The Good Egg and the irreverent team behind Proud Mary Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Stepping inside Proud Mary Pizzeria is like walking into a neon-soaked fever dream in full technicolour. The space has undergone a full-throttle glow-up, pink walls drenched in psychedelic artwork, a shimmering vinyl station where diners can dig through records and choose the soundtrack to their meal, and an energy that hums from the street straight into the stone oven. It’s an East London welcome meets rock-and-roll mythology, served hot and by the slice.

And the menu? That’s where the real wildness begins. A riot of fire, flavour and Proud Mary flair, each dish arrives with attitude, beauty and bite.

Meet The Sloppy Mary, spiced beef tossed with Turkish peppers and caramelised onions, a messy, glorious ode to indulgence. Right beside her sits The Rebel Queen, a pizza pie loaded with glossy caponata, cheeky chilli honey, melting mozzarella and parmesan; a crown absolutely dripping in flavour.

The starters come out swinging too, kicking things off with The ZFC, Proud Mary's take on Za’atar Fried Chicken: juicy thighs smothered in mozzarella and a Bloody Mary marinara. And then there’s Bombetta, tender pork stuffed with smoked mozzarella and fiery nduja, wrapped in crisp pancetta for an opener that demands a cold drink and instantly gets the table talking.
