Samsung Gives Customers "Switchers" With Couples Therapy's Dr. Orna
Sep. 17, 2026
Samsung, a leading manufacturer of foldable smartphones, is helping new users navigate the switch in its newest campaign, “Switchers,” a self-aware, tongue-in-cheek parody created by Chromista and starring Dr. Orna from Showtime’s Couples Therapy.
Directed by Chromista’s Renny Maslow, the campaign brings together three unexpected pairings to explore the emotional—and often irrational—reasons people hesitate to switch phones. Each duo is paired with one of Samsung’s latest devices: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The campaign features Dylan Efron, former Traitors castmate, and Ciara Miller of Summer House in “Ha-Ha” and “Bedrot,” highlighting how Smart Switch and RCS help users bring their data with them while avoiding the awkwardness of in-message reactions gone wrong.
NFL veterans and Netflix football analysts Nick Foles of the Eagles and Clay Matthews of the Packers star in “Blind Spot” and “Jersey.” Their stories spotlight Samsung’s Privacy Display while tackling one of the most familiar pain points of switching: the social stigma—and group-chat awkwardness—surrounding green bubbles.
Meanwhile, Love Island cast members Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt appear in "Therapy Puppets" and "Shirtless," showcasing the ease of sharing and transferring content with Smart Share, which is compatible with AirDrop.
A Therapy Session for Phone Switchers
Maslow closely recreates the tone and setting of Showtime’s Couples Therapy, deliberately mirroring the series’ signature visual language, intimate framing, and observational style. With Dr. Orna at the center, each pair takes a seat on the couch to unpack the real reasons they’re afraid to switch phones—even when something better may be waiting on the other side.
The parody is deliberately exacting, placing Samsung’s product story within an emotional context: switching phones is about more than technology—it’s about breaking old habits, overcoming irrational anxieties, and letting go of what feels familiar.
Through a series of comedic and occasionally hyperbolic scenarios, “Switchers” turns those familiar fears into moments of humor while demonstrating how features such as Smart Switch can make the transition simple. Ultimately, the campaign invites viewers to confront their own reasons for staying put—and consider making the switch themselves.
With “Switchers,” Samsung and Chromista bring a new perspective to the familiar phone-switching conversation: sometimes, the biggest obstacle to upgrading isn’t the technology. It’s us.
