Stone Dogs Welcomes Holly Greig as Colourist
Aug. 22, 2022
Stone Dogs today announces the hire of Holly Greig to its budding colour team. The appointment bolsters the boutique VFX and finishing house’s new colour offering, which launched at the beginning of this month.
Holly began her journey in post production as a receptionist at Prime Focus, working her way up through MCR to TK assistant. From there, she moved to Freefolk as a data wrangler, dedicating herself to absorbing as much knowledge as possible from the inspiring colourists around her, and eventually earning the same position herself. In this role, she developed her commercial client base while crafting eye-catching work for such icons as Nike, E4, and Virgin Atlantic.
One recent highlight in Holly’s career so far has been grading BBC Three’s surreal comedy series ‘Ellie and Natasia’, which was met with acclaim upon its launch. Due to the sketch show format, Holly enjoyed the challenge of inventing a new aesthetic and grades for each vignette, with each scene conveying a distinct theme and feel.
Now at Stone Dogs, Holly is looking forward to being a part of a community once more, following a stretch of freelancing during covid. With grading being a new endeavour for the studio, Holly is particularly excited to be a part of its team as it grows in this creative space, working together to provide the best service for clients.
Holly Greig comments:
“Anyone who has met the guys at Stone Dogs will know that they are some of the kindest and most genuine people you'll ever have the pleasure to meet. I felt immediately at home with how warm and welcoming they are, and got the impression that they truly want the best for everyone who works there: helping each other progress and develop together is very important to them.”
She adds:
“Everyone has been incredibly supportive, and they feel like a really tight knit group where collaboration and camaraderie are the values they extend to both their colleagues and their clients. I’m thrilled to join this collective of like-minded people, who share in my belief that our jobs are more than just jobs - they’re a place for imagination, creativity, and collaboration.”
Brian Carbin, Co-Founder and Flame Artist at Stone Dogs, comments:
“We’re delighted that everything has finally fallen into place for us to offer grading with the amazing Holly Greig in the hot seat, complimenting our online and CG/MGFX offering. We are so looking forward to working on the various new projects that will come in as a result of Holly’s incorporation into the team, including commercials, episodic programming, TV promos and sponsorship idents.”
