Throwing Fits and C.P. Company Launch FW024 with Short Film Directed by Andy Madeleine from Even/Odd
Oct. 02, 2024
Throwing Fits, the self-proclaimed "only podcast that matters" co-hosted by James Harris and Lawrence Schlossman aka Jimmy and Larry, have teamed up with their old pals at C.P. Company, putting their unique stamp on select pieces from the Italian brand’s FW024 collection. The perfect union will be marked by the release of a short film from Director Andy Madeleine and award-winning creative studio Even/Odd.
The Throwing Fits x C.P. Company collaboration introduces 14 pieces, including overshirts, down jackets, pants, t-shirts, and knitwear, all crafted from fabrics like Chrome-R, Flatt Nylon, D.D. Shell, Lambswool, and Microreps. Jimmy and Larry’s trademark irreverence and enthusiasm shine through in creatively reimagining customized pockets, lenses, and embroidered or printed ‘T.F. COMPANY’ co-logos.
This project marks the evolution of a strong bond between the American duo and the Italian brand, developed through various initiatives over the years. It reflects the shared community spirit and values between C.P. Company and the Throwing Fits audience, including their feature in the ADV SS024 campaign.
To celebrate the collaboration launch, a short film was created to capture the project’s concept: doing absolutely whatever it takes in the noble pursuit of chilling. Starring Throwing Fits’ Jimmy and Larry, the video takes viewers on a frantic tour of NYC’s streets and subways as the duo rushes to meet at an unknown location – amusingly revealed to be Brooklyn’s popular first come, first serve restaurant, Bernie’s. Director Andy Madeleine assembled a small but talented crew for the project, working quickly and efficiently to shoot all the scenes in a single day.
Madeleine explained:
"Beyond the core idea developed by Jimmy and Larry, the concept of the film was inspired by both the sounds and visuals of London hip-hop/electro. We wanted the first portion of the film to establish a feeling of chaos and anticipation so, when the flip happens at the end, the contrast creates humor. We also wanted the camera to move in a way that would aid in these feelings – chaotic handheld shots, zooms, and tracking that then transition to something more composed at the end. We opted to shoot on 16mm film, to give the film a characteristic look and feel – inspired by that of films like Run Lola Run and Good Time. We’re very pleased with the end result – it was a lot of fun getting back to my guerilla-style roots."
The garments, unveiled on September 21st in New York at Throwing Fits’ third annual Friends & Family Bazaar, are available exclusively on cpcompany.com from September 26th.
