Togetherwith and Kenver Invite to Rethink What We Give Children to Play

May. 15, 2023

In a world that is becoming increasingly technological, children's toys are no exception. Tablets, PlayStation, remote control cars, robots with lights and sounds, dinosaurs that transform and even allow you to scan your code to continue the game from cell phone screens.

So much technology sometimes makes adults believe that children, to have fun, need the most expensive, complex and latest fashion toys. However, more than once, we find them playing with nothing less than… the box.

In this context, Togetherwith and Kenver present "Toys from reality". A project based on turning what nature gives us into toys for children to let their own imagination run wild. In this way, what for an adult is nothing more than a tree branch, for a child it can be a magic wand, a sword or a lightsaber; a pineapple from the vision of a child can be a unicorn horn or a top that travels in time; a shell can be transformed into a spoon, a submarine or an amulet, and where a grown person sees a simple rock, a child's imagination can take him to space and turn it into a distant planet.

Lulo Calio Partner & CCO of Togertherwith said:

"Toys work as triggers for children to explore, develop new skills, and especially let their imaginations flow. We think that all these characteristics are found in nature itself. Toys were always there, but we never thought they could be a 'gift' for our children. ‘Toys from reality’ was born from this insight. The magic of these toys is that children can give them the meaning they want."

The campaign created by Togetherwith for the outdoor store focused on the perfect gift for children -together with their parents- to discover the power of their imagination, using things that we can find in the ecosystem that surrounds us: a twig, a pineapple, a stone.

Paul Reid, from Kenver said:

"As a brand specialized in outdoor life, our purpose is to bring people closer to nature and awaken the best in them, because that is where the magic happens. For this reason, together with Togetherwith, we thought of these limited-edition collectible boxes as an invitation for children to connect with her in a playful and fun way."

Beyond fun, imagination helps children enhance social, emotional, creative, physical, and cognitive development. For this reason, as part of the initiative, an alliance was made with the Great Barrington Libraries. to donate to children affected by foster care or juvenile justice involvement.
