We Are Social Hires Thibault la Droitte as Director of Influence
May. 16, 2024
Global socially-led creative agency We Are Social has hired one of the industry's leading figures in influencer marketing, Thibault la Droitte, as director of influence in the UK, elevating the agency’s reputation as a leader in the space.
La Droitte will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of influencer marketing for We Are Social, with a focus on shaping and leading its creator strategy in the UK market. He will work closely with We Are Social’s roster of clients, which includes adidas, Activision and Starbucks, to optimise their influencer approach with creative, effective and authentic partnerships. He will also become a key member of the agency's global influencer marketing council.
La Droitte joins the agency from PHD, where he was influencer marketing director, working with Warner Bros, Sky, Kimberly-Clark, The Guardian and others on their influencer approach. He joined the agency in 2021 and established its influencer offering, overseeing ideation, creator identification, campaign activation, events and measurement. During this time he was responsible for delivering high profile partnerships, including Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Sam Ryder collaboration during Eurovision, and The Guardian’s first influencer marketing campaign. He is a regular judge at industry awards, including at this year’s Global Influencer Marketing Awards in July.
Before PHD, la Droitte worked at IPG Mediabrands, delivering large-scale influencer campaigns for clients such as LEGO and Canada Goose. He also has creator and celebrity management experience from a previous role at Milk Model Management.
In his new role, la Droitte reports to Dan Keefe, Head of We Are Social Studios. He will work with all the agency's teams, from creative to strategy, editorial to production, to ensure We Are Social’s influencer approach continues to be industry-leading. In the past, the agency has been responsible for high profile collaborations such as Baga Chipz for McCain and Pogba x Stormzy for adidas.
Jim Coleman, UK chief executive, We Are Social, said:
"Working with creators has been part of our DNA since inception and is a crucial part of what we offer our clients as creative and social experts. The evolution of the creator economy means it’s time for us to up our game even further - and Thibault is the perfect person to help us do this. He brings with him an exceptional track record of crafting effective influencer strategies and judging world class creator work, and his experience of influencer partnerships is unrivalled in the industry. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact he has on our work."
La Droitte added:
"I was drawn to We Are Social by the potential of bringing content creators, social platforms, and creativity together in one space. With a client roster that few agencies can claim, the opportunity to do groundbreaking work in the influencer space is significant. I’m looking forward to working with teams who are all social natives and who already get why creators are so integral to the marketing landscape. It’s the perfect platform to work from to create remarkable campaigns that lead the industry."
