Fresh off the Academy Award win for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for their work on the critically acclaimed film Dune, Wylie Co. is thrilled to welcome back Daniel Lang as full-time staff Compositor along with the talented Unreal Engine artist Bryan Bigler.

Wylie Co. Founder Jacob Maymudes says:

“Bryan Bigler and one of our favorite freelance artists has returned to staff roles with us. Bryan Bigler will be advancing our Unreal Engine pipeline while Dan brings strong creative eyes to our compositor team. These two are top notch artists and have spent many years at the cutting edge facilities like The Mill, Framestore & MPC. We’re humbled they chose Wylie Co. for staff roles.”

Bigler says:

“I feel incredibly fortunate to be bolted onto the team at Wylie Co. I'm literally getting to work on my dream project. The things these guys are getting into will change the playing field for pre-visualization and post-visualization.”

Lang shares:

“Wylie Co. is such a great company to work for. They have great projects, an excellent pipeline, and all my coworkers are quite talented.”

Creative Director Josh Hatton says:

“Like many other studios, finding good talent has really been challenging lately. We are very fortunate to have such great artists joining the team, we continue to search for the best candidates wherever they may be. Our hybrid work approach lets artists work from home or come in as needed, and this seems to resonate with most people.”

Visual Effects Supervisor, Patrick Heinen also expresses his enthusiasm for Lang making a return to the team.

Heinen shares:

“Dan comes with a long list of experience, as well as a critical eye for quality compositing, and both are true compositing rockstars in his own right,”   “Dan has jumped in to help us reimagine a tricky post-vis sequence.”

  • About Wylie Co.:

Wylie Co. was founded in 2015 by veteran artist Jacob Maymudes. Originally named Rebellion VFX, the company has contributed to the following films & TV titles: Everest (2015), All I See Is You (2016), Sky Hunter (2017), Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), “Beastie Boys Story” (2020), Music (2021), The Stand (2021), and Dune (2021). • Bryan Bigler Bio:

Bryan has been professionally moving pixels around since 2011 although he discovered his passion for film & VFX as a teenager filming his neighborhood friends skateboarding the mean streets of Santa Clarita. After reading Robert Rodriguez’s Rebel Without A Crew, he approached his career with the intention of being a one-stop shop for directing, editing and VFX along with providing visuals for live music. Bouncing around between music videos, YouTube, commercials and features while embracing his software junkie mentality, he eventually crossed paths with Jake Maymudes and Wylie VFX on a Walmart/Xbox commercial where he was Creative Director and Editor. Bryan discovered his love for Unreal Engine and real-time compositing which led him to Virtual Production and soon found himself spending countless nights combining all the toys in his toolbox.

  • Dan Lang Bio:

Dan Lang has been a professional Nuke Compositor for over 10 years but has been doing visual effects since he was a teenager. He got his first computer at the age of 8 and was working with Cinema 4D when he was 10 years old. He learned After Effects when he was about 12 and continued to progress with his own projects until he started working for The Mill in 2010. He was hired as a Compositor shortly after and learned Nuke on the fly as he was being hired as an artist. He worked at the Mill all the way till 2019 when he took a job at Wylie Co. on Terminator: Dark Fate
