Production Veteran Kate Smith Returns to Flavor as Executive Producer

Apr. 12, 2022

The leaders from creative production studio Flavor and Cutters Studios are very proud to announce the return of production veteran Kate Smith in the role of Executive Producer. The announcement was made by Flavor’s Managing Director Neal Cohen and Executive Creative Director Brian McCauley.

Previously a Producer for Flavor, Smith spent the past year as Senior Producer with Carbon developing high-profile brand campaigns, including BBH New York’s multiple award-winning “Black-Owned Friday” spot for Google. Prior to landing with Flavor in 2019, she was a Producer for specialized creative agency Leviathan, where she contributed to highly innovative projects ranging from award-winning digital art and experiential installations for the Shops at 900 North Michigan and Northwestern Mutual, to the Super Mario World theme-park attraction. Smith began her career with independent production studio Optimus, where she rose to the post of Producer Design & VFX, working on projects spanning commercials, TV series, and feature films, over the course of 10 years.

Smith began:

“I am so excited to be back with my Flavor and Cutters Studios friends. You can’t beat working on first class projects with the solid and supportive team they’ve cultivated.  Seriously looking forward to diving back in!”

Cohen explained:

“Kate is very well-versed in every aspect of our production process: The knowledge she brings is only available to someone with her level of experience. She also knows so many people and has great relationships across a huge database. All of this makes her the ideal person to assess challenges, devise solutions, and improve the results for us and our clients.”

McCauley added:

“Kate is an amazing producer, and we’re absolutely ecstatic to have her back in this capacity. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude are second to none. Her sense of humor is just what you need when the going gets tough, and her steady leadership keeps clients and artists thrilled with our work.”

To support its illustrious clients worldwide, Flavor is always looking to expand its roster of freelancers. Experienced and passionate designers, 2D/3D animators, character animators, VFX artists, compositors and Flame finishers are invited to send reels, portfolios, and resumes. City, state, or country of residence are non-issues in the group’s mission to collaborate with the best of the best.
