Spot Welders is an award-winning creative editorial company servicing the entertainment and advertising industries since 1993.

 

Following great success in the booming music video era of the 80s and 90s, founding partners Robert Duffy (Editor) and David Glean (Managing Director) opened the unparalleled beachy Spot Welders campus at the top of now-famous Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, California, and soon brought on partners Michael Heldman and Haines Hall to create the original roster of editorial talent.

The far-reaching popularity of MTV and VH1 provided endless airing of works edited by the early team “Welders” leading to vast exposure amidst the Advertising and Film industries and catapulting the company to well-respected, award-winning status in those arenas.

Spot Welders continued to grow its roster of commercial, music video, television, documentary and feature film editors at its Venice headquarters, and in 2005 opened its New York City office with Partner/Editor Dick Gordon.

 

The current team of industry-leading editors consists of: Catherine Bull, Robert Duffy, Benjamin Entrup, Haines Hall, Michael Heldman, Mischa Meyer, Erin Nordstrom, Matt Osborne, and Paul Sabater.
In 2012, Spot Welders'​ sister company SHIPPING + HANDLING was established with award-winning artist Casey Price to provide the complete scope of post-production services from creative finishing, VFX/motion graphics and animation on-site.

Spot Welders and SHIPPING + HANDLING together stand strongly and proudly committed to a company culture of collaboration, excellence in creative execution and client service, as well as ethnic, gender and religious diversity of our creative talent and staff. There are three female Welders on the editorial roster, and the company is firmly supportive of Free The Bid and other diversity initiatives across the advertising and entertainment industries.
