Veuve Clicquot
Veuve Clicquot is among the most prestigious Champagne Houses.
In 1972, the Veuve Clicquot champagne house celebrated its 200th birthday and on this occasion created the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award. With this, Veuve Clicquot honors a courageous and extraordinary woman, Madame Clicquot. Their history is one of daring, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. In 1805, after the death of her husband, Madame Clicquot, only 27 years old, took over the maison at a time when women were not allowed to work, let alone have a bank account. Madame Clicquot had to overcome countless obstacles before she was fully recognized as the "Grande Dame" of Champagne. With willpower and a pioneering spirit, she defied the conventions that prevailed at the time and, over the decades, led the Clicquot champagne house to international success.
