Reinserta, the leading NGO in Mexico that works on the emotional and social recovery of children and adolescents who have been exposed to the criminal justice system, calls on Mexican society to join its fundraising campaign through the short film "III". This film seeks to make visible the motherhood and living conditions of children in contact with prisons in Mexico. These donations will be used in the construction of dignified maternity spaces -like the ones Reinserta has built in several prisons-, a new "baby library" in Monterrey, as well as in psychological and legal care programs that seek to guarantee their development inside and outside of prison.

According to Reinserta, around 500 children are born and live in prison and can live up to three years with their mothers inside the penitentiary centres.

The film tells in 4 minutes the story of a group of women who are seen trafficking a package in prison that turns out to be a birthday candle to celebrate the 3rd year of a child living in prison, who must be separated from his mother. A powerful and heartbreaking story that invites commitment to help these mothers and their children.

Alexis Ospina, CCO of Grey Mexico commented:

"Creativity has the power to change people's lives and this is a film that seeks to connect with people's hearts, showing the reality faced by mothers and children in prison, with an unexpected twist that leaves you cold and invites you to help."

Saskia Nino De Rivera, co-founder and spokesperson for Reinserta.org said:

"I am happy with the film because it shows the strength of the union of civil society working on behalf of children in prison, and that together we can make real changes in social matters. It becomes a tool to communicate in a powerful way such an important issue."

The film was produced by Oriental Films, one of the most outstanding production companies in Latin America in recent years, and co-directed by Yupi Segura, the best filmmaker in Latin America according to the Ojo de Iberoamérica 2022 and the duo "Sauna".
