Clash of Clans Parodies Big Screen Horror Movie Hit to Promote its Halloween Update

Oct. 25, 2023

Brace yourselves for a spine-tingling Halloween update from mobile game Clash of Clans as it hilariously parodies the latest horror movie craze that's been making headlines. To promote the game's latest update featuring a possessed character, DAVID New York is launching a campaign cleverly nodding to the latest horror blockbuster that had everyone talking last week.

From a comically spooky trailer that will air on entertainment platforms and in theaters to posters smartly mixing horror movie tropes, Clash of Clans' campaign for its Halloween update campaign is worthy of a theatrical release.

"Clash-O-Ween" – the game's Halloween event - will be going on all October and sees one of the game’s main characters becoming possessed and wreaking havoc in the village as it introduces spooky temporary rewards, characters and skins to Clash of Clans.

Iwo Zakowski Head of Marketing at Supercell said:

"Our Halloween update featured a possessed character and coincidentally so did the most awaited horror movie of this Halloween. It felt that our players would enjoy that connection on their phone screens as well as the big screens."

Andre Toledo, Chief Creative Officer at DAVID New York said:

"We had a lot of fun making this Halloween movie spoof and playing with all the clichés of horror blockbusters to hack the frenzy around the theater release that everyone has been talking about lately."
