Corona Promotes Brewing with Renewable Solar Energy in New Brand Campaign

The local production of Cerveza Corona, the brand of AB Inbev Bavaria's global portfolio, in line with the company's commitment to make a transition to renewable energy, will be be exclusively brewed with solar energy, having the 100% of the production completed by beginning of 2024. To promote its clean production, "Corona Solar Energ" by creative agency DAVID Bogota, shows off Corona in its most natural way — brewed by the sun.  

The campaign lets the power of the sunshine in the visually striking campaign, nodding to the use of solar energy.  Each creative component is 100% shoot with sun light and the reflection on the bottle, centered on natural images to highlight the sun’s effect on the landscape, the water, the human body and the new brew method of Corona.  

Alvaro De Luna, CMO AB Inbev Bavaria said:

"Corona is born in nature. It is inspired by the sea, the beach, the sunsets and the sun. We are a brand that defends the natural and inspires the world to value and preserve the paradise in which we live. For this reason, with this proposal we want to visually show the highest meaning of being a beer connected to nature through the sun. For us, the fact that our local production will be made entirely of solar energy is an important announcement, and we want to expose it in the most accurate and beautiful way possible with these photographs." 

 

Carlos Camacho, CCO of DAVID Bogotá said:

"Corona is part of our history since we have been working with them in different markets, from Uk, China, Colombia, and many others, working in some of the best global work for them, but this time is way more exciting joining them as they make this new milestone shifting to using solar energy. The environment and natural ingredients have always been part of Corona’s branding and now the sun is a key component of its brewing process. In this campaign, we wanted to play with the sun’s light and shadows as it reflects on natural spaces and the human body."

 

In August 2022, parent company AB InBev announced that all of its future beer production will be made using solar energy. This change is a step towards the company’s 2025 climate action goals.  

The campaign runs in Colombia with OOH, Magazine, and Digital work.
