DAVID New York Calls Out Copycat Games with New Clash Royale Campaign

Apr. 16, 2026

DAVID New York is addressing the growing wave of imitation mobile games with "Copycats Welcome," a new campaign for Clash Royale that calls out copycat titles mimicking the game’s gameplay, weapons, and characters — while inviting players to convert their progress in those games into rewards in the real Clash Royale.

As lookalike games continue to blur the lines for players, the campaign reframes imitation as an opportunity — encouraging players to leave copycat games behind and reconnect with the original experience.

In a new film, original characters — including the Barbarian and Archer — are pulled into a portal that drops them into a series of fake Clash Royale worlds, where they encounter their own imitators. From "Bash Royale" to "Space Royale," the characters navigate distorted versions of the game before finding their way back to the real arena.

The film concludes by inviting players to abandon copycat games and convert their progress into rewards within Clash Royale. Through a dedicated microsite, players can trade in their experience from imitation games and reconnect with the original.

So far, in 5 days, more than 2.3M players have exchanged their progress for rewards in the game.
