Following the in-person judging session that took place yesterday at the AKQA offices in Sao Paulo, the advertising industry now awaits the Gerety shortlist which will be announced Tuesday, June 14th, followed by jury insight panels from Brazil and around the world.

Don't miss the Gerety jury insight panels and watch some of this year's jury from Brazil discuss trends and favourite campaigns from the 2022 Gerety Awards. Moderated by Carolina Vilela, Journalist at Propmark the panel will include:

With 34 years on the Marketing and Advertising business, worked on the Marketing side at McDonald’s and Citibank, and at the leadership of the main Ad agencies such as Ogilvy, Africa, DM9DDB, McCann Erickson, Head of Branded Content at Abril Group, Co-founded the British M&C Saatchi agency in Brazil, and Leo Burnett as the SVP Head of Planning & Integrated Experiences Latin America. 

Collaborating author with published essays on the Americans Branding Strategy Insider, MusebyClio, Contently, Brandchannel, LIA Insider, and AdNews, Meio&Mensagem in Brazil. 

A Branded Content & Entertainment judge of the following international Festivals: Cannes Lions, CLIO Awards, London Awards - LIA, Brand Film Awards NYC (by Campaign), The Drum Content Awards in London, Lisbon Ad Festival, FIAP Festival, A-List Hollywood Awards 2017/19, Dubai Lynx (Cannes Lions Group), at Cristal Festival in France and also a member of their Branded Entertainment Academy and speaker, at BE Awards in Australia for two years, The Gerety Awards, Festival of Media Miami, Effie Awards. 

Kelly Christina Castilho, Director, Confeitaria Filmes

Kelly has been operating for 27 years in the advertising film market and cinematic. She worked in production companies, such as O2 Filmes, where she started as a Production Intern and went on to others like, Sentimental Filmes, Conspiracao Filmes, Zero Filmes, 5.6 and Academia de Filmes. In 2004 she became Art Director, in 2012 she positioned her production company Confeitaria Filmes, of which she is the founder, as director. She wrote her first screenplay, a documentary film, however, in 2014 she took a break from her career to dedicate herself to her newborn son. A few months later she spearheaded multimedia projects, returning to movies in 2016. In 2018 she started researching her first fiction film, the feature film Claudia, and got specialized in Cinematography. In 2019 she shot the movie Invisible Girls. She founded the Africa.Br Contemporary Institute, and received an offer to become Executive of the Artistic Production of Globo, taking on a team of Designers, Art Producers, set designers, 3D Scenography and stagehands, between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. She was part of the Executive Jury of the Gerety Awards 2019 and of the Ampro Globe Awards 2020/2021, in addition of being Director of + Mulheres Brazilian Audiovisual Leaders. As well as being part of the The Rewrite- Netflix, a team of leaders from Brazil, USA and beyond countries, which are helping to rewrite the history of cinema. She was a Director of the award-winning Estação Livre program on TV Cultura, and also of the documentary film Mães do Brasil, released in December/2021 by Globo Network, being the responsible Director. In addition, she also directed in 2021 three new projects for the GNT channel, on Gastronomy, Fashion/Beauty and Renovations. Today she is considered a 360 professional, because she works in Advertising, Film and TV.

Juliana Uchoa, Creative Director, HNK Lab

In the past 20 years, she has worked for agencies such as Suno United Creators, Dm9DDB, F / Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, DPZ and Africa, developing campaigns for brands such as Ambev, Bradesco Bank, Itaú Bank, Nike, Claro, ESPN, Grendene, Natura, P&G, Brasil Kirin, Fiat and Unibanco . During this time, she has got some awards such as Cannes Lions, Clio Awards (including Grand Prix), Clube de Criação de São Paulo, El Ojo, and London International Awards, among others. In the beginning of her career, she was also chosen to represent Brazil at Cannes as Young Creative. For several years, Juliana also attends as a teacher at the Miami Ad School São Paulo.

Agatha Kim, VP, Strategy at BETC (Brazil)

Born in São Paulo to Korean immigrant parents, Agatha Kim graduated in advertising at Cásper Líbero, has a postgraduate degree in Socio-Psychology at Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo, and was part of the Executive Leadership program at THNK Creative Leadership School in Amsterdam. She is currently the VP of Strategy at BETC HAVAS, where she leads the strategy, content, and BI areas. In more than 16 years of career, she has worked with companies such as Avon and Diageo, in addition to large agencies. Judge of Effie Brasil, Latam and Global, AME Awards, and El Ojo de Iberoamérica, she has also participated in awarded projects at Cannes Lions, Effie, and The One Show, among others. Agatha believes that the only way to make good advertising is to reflect the face and reality of the Brazilian population, positively impacting people's lives and being a mirror of society’s transformation. In addition to advertising, she mentors social projects and is one of the members of the Korean-Brazilian feminist collective Mitchosso.
