Impression Appoints First Ever Managing Partner as Client Base Grows
Jul. 24, 2025
Impression, a UK-based performance marketing agency, has appointed David Johnson as its first Managing Partner, as the business expands with new clients and into new markets.
As Managing Partner, Johnson will be responsible for driving client success and approximately half of Impression’s revenue. His role will involve developing Impression into an even more client-centric agency including enhancing Impression’s services to meet evolving client needs.
Johnson’s appointment comes at a time of considerable growth for Impression, which recently announced a swathe of new client wins, including Stella McCartney, Oliver Bonas, and Castore.
Impression has also expanded its presence in the North of England with the launch and growth of a Manchester office, where Johnson will be based.
Johnson’s experience includes growth and client service roles at a number of UK and international advertising agencies and publishers. He joins Impression from Dentsu, where he most recently worked as Client Director. Through his career, Johnson has worked in client services roles across a wide range of sectors, including ecommerce, retail, automotive, travel, and healthcare.
David Johnson said:
“I’m delighted to be joining Impression as the first Managing Partner at a time of major growth for the agency. As our client needs continue to develop and shift, I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience of client services to guide brands through their long-term challenges.
Liam Wade, Performance Director at Impression, said:
“The so-called “best practices” of our era are becoming stale, and marketers need to adapt. More than ever, brands also need genuine problem-solvers and strategic partners who can help them navigate the complexities of growth. David has joined Impression to spearhead this shift - bringing together our strength in performance marketing with his own deep understanding of our clients' long-term challenges. David’s role will help ensure that every client – regardless of size or service line – benefits from the very best of what Impression has to offer, both now and as we grow.”
