JvM Nerd & Stunning Studio Create Own Multi-Brand Fortnite Game Experience

KICKZ M3TA, the Metaverse joint venture that includes basketball and fashion retailer KICKZ, Jung von Matt NERD, and brandneo, is launching the "Mooncourt" on Fortnite with a custom video game. Joining them are iconic brands like BMW, PUMA and Kellogg’s involved in basketball, as well as NBA design icon Jeff Hamilton. The multiplayer gaming experience was conceived and developed by boutique studio startup Stunning Studio from Hamburg, Germany. JvM NERD is responsible for the curation of all actors.

  • Innovation for retail.

Late last year, basketball retailer KICKZ announced a dedicated joint venture for the Metaverse in collaboration with agencies Jung von Matt NERD, brandneo, web3 entrepreneur Alexander Schlicher and serial entrepreneur Jacob Fatih and his incubator CREALIZE. The venture aims to drive innovation in commerce and to develop new multi-brand concepts, from token-based loyalty programs to NFTs and gaming. As a bundling point for all these innovative, digital measures, KICKZ M3TA launched the "Mooncourt".

  • The first German fashion retailer on Fortnite.

After KICKZ M3TA released its first token collection almost two months ago, "Mooncourt Ballin'" is now the first gaming experience in the Fortnite creative universe. This makes the joint venture the first German fashion retailer to use the new possibilities of the Fortnite universe and the Creator Mode. Here, Stunning Studio exclusively developed an innovative multiplayer video game mechanic, which has never been seen before in the Fortnite universe. The "Be the ball" principle allows Fortnite players to transform into basketballs for the first time, immersing them in the game experience.

  • The who is who of basketball and digital pop culture.

An essential part of Retail is the close cooperation with brands and partners. In this context, KICKZ M3TA, together with the successful marketing consultancy of JvM NERD, was able to win four very exceptional partners. JvM NERD was responsible for the curation of all partners as well as the creative and consulting management of the project.

BMW partnership

With BMW, KICKZ M3TA was able to win a partner that is already deeply rooted in gaming and digital pop culture through community-focused campaigns such as "United in Rivalry", "Hypnopolis Podcast" or "JOYTOPIA". The BMW brand, which has always been shaped and driven by the theme of "Experience", and the highly immersive game Fortnite are therefore now the perfect symbiosis. In this respect, participation as a supporter and partner in "Mooncourt Ballin'" is now the next logical step for the Munich "Love Brand". "Mooncourt Ballin'" and the Fortnite universe offer BMW as a brand. A great opportunity to interact even more profoundly with the community and to go beyond existing boundaries in gaming. BMW is integrated into "Mooncourt Ballin'" with an interactive "BMW Hyperrail" that offers players an exciting combination of speed and impressive perspectives. In addition, curious players can catch an exclusive first look at a previously unrevealed BMW model, which will be revealed on Oct. 11, 2023

PUMA partnership

For the first time ever, KICKZ has entered into an exclusive basketball shoe collaboration with none other than world-renowned sports company PUMA. Together with the Herzogenaurach- based company, two very special KICKZ 30-Year-Anniversary colorways of their popular 'Playmaker Pro' performance model have been designed. The two colorways, 'Perfect Shot' and 'Community', feature KICKZ patterns and debut in the Fortnite Island “Mooncourt Ballin'”. They will also be available at retail from week 41-42 2023

Kellogg’s partnership

Basketball is so much more than just a sport. It's community, creativity, music, fashion. And that makes basketball a perfect fit for the traditional Kellogg’s brand. Consequently, it was only a matter of time before Kellogg’s revived its long-standing connection to basketball last year with its involvement in EuroBasket. Spurred on by the synergy & energy to basketball, the partnership with KICKZ and the integration into "Mooncourt Ballin'" by Kellogg’s is now the next step into the world of basketball.

Jeff Hamilton partnership

KICKZ M3TA is also proud to have secured none other than fashion designer icon Jeff Hamilton for a special “Mooncourt” partnership. Jeff Hamilton, who has over 6 million followers on Instagram and whose leather jackets, worn by the likes of LeBron James and Michael Jordan, are legendary in the NBA community, has agreed to produce 15 exclusive “Mooncourt” jackets for KICKZ M3TA. Players of "Mooncourt Ballin'" can expect the digital version of the jackets as an interactive game feature. For the real jackets, limited to 15 pieces, fans will be able to grab them at select KICKZ stores.
